My Summer Scent

Hey guys and girls!! It’s been an exhausting few weeks, I’ve been applying to get my degree done and replying to emails [exciting news are coming!], and so on so I haven’t had much time to write here but today I finally found the time to take a seat and write to you about something I really, really love. My summer scent.

I have this thing for good smelling people. Whenever someone passes by and leaves an amazing smell behind, I’m always compelled to go after them and say “Please, don’t go! You smell too good to go!”. Of course I’m too shy to actually do this, but it’s really something that I love.

This perfume was given to me a few years ago, and from the first time I smelled it, I’ve loved it but I’ve left it empty on the shelf for a few years. Okay it was mainly because I was on my scent-slut years and I wanted to try everything that was on the market, but yeah, it just stood there, empty.

My Mom gave me this perfume on my birthday, which is in May, and I took it as an advise to stop the hunt. It was like when you have an amazing ex-boyfriend but suddenly get cold feet and your mind starts looping that there might be something better out there and you break up with him just to realise that all the other guys you meet are just full of crap, and you end up eating an whole bucket of ice cream alone at night thinking of him but still hopping you’ll find something better and then you text him and then you pass out ice-cream-drunk. You’ve always meant to be together, but you were too afraid of losing something better.

That’s kinda what happened with me and this perfume. Now that I made my peace with our past we’re having an amazing ride together.

It’s the Lacoste’s Touch of Pink! I love the smell because it’s a little bit girly and sweet without being too sugary or powdery at all, and at the same time it fades on a spicy/sweet musky floral scent that it’s perfect for the everyday life.

I have a spicy ( is it spicy? I think it is) kind of smell, so most of the perfumes I’ve tried only made me smell like a 50’s grandma (not in a good way), or like I’ve spilled a honey pot on top of me. And that’s why I like this perfume, it makes me feel spicy in a hot way not like in a “God, I need to shower or I’ll barf” way, on the contrary of other perfumes out there.

Although I love the smell (especially when applied directly on my skin, which I rarely do), I find that it fades too quickly leaving something that I found essential on a perfume behind: a remarkable and memorable scent from the moment you spray it until you take a bath. It just fades too quickly.

And that’s why it’s already 1/4 spent. I find a little bit annoying having to spray it a few times a day, but that’s really the only way it would last.

Overall I give it a 4 out of 5, which is pretty great actually. BUT (Oh God, why is that there always has to be a but?) someone told me that this perfume is going to be discontinued or it already has been? I don’t know. So it’s like I just found out that my former ex-boyfriend that stood on a shelf but know we’re getting back together is moving to China soon.

I guess my hunt for a perfume must continue. Do you have any ideas?? And pretty please do not suggest the Lacome’s La Vie Est Belle, I’ve tried it and needed to give it away to my little sis because it’s too damn sweet for me!! *cries in spanish*

Also, if you’re missing me go over my Twitter and say hi! Or stalk me on instagram, I don’t care! But if you’re really a creep and want to take a step forward add me on Snapchat! I’m @ellaivoire in all of them, so you won’t have a hard time finding me!

I love Lacoste products. I even have a bag collection of them though I haven’t tried this scent yet. I am thinking of purchasing a perfume for my husband and he mentioned before that what he like with the scents there in the market is the Lacoste Red. I’m actually thinking of giving it to him as a gift.

My husband loves Lacoste’s scents. I always buy him perfume when his bottle is about to go empty because he tends to just buy what he really needs and perfumes for him are just wants.

Haha you’re writing makes me giggle. “Scent-slut” *cries with laughter*. I suppose if it’s discontinued I won’t be able to find it, but now that I know that Lacoste even HAS perfumes, I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for sharing 🙂

I love this perfume too! And I’m still using it until now but I agree with you. You need to retouch several times the whole day. You might want to try perfumes from Burberry 🙂

Ooooh. I love Lacoste! But I’ve never tried this one before. Will definitely try this when I go to a Lacoste store 😀

My all-time scent is Clinique Happy Heart. It’s so friendly. I’ve smelled this because my mom has one also and it’s super good. Not too powerful for me. 😀

I might like the scent too but would be better if it can last with less spray. 🙂 Too sad it will not be available.

Lacoste is a good brand and I usually see this during my travels, which I often bring home as my travel gift to my family. I usually prefer the more subdued scent (such as the Green Tea scent of another perfume line). But on other days, I still use colognes (and baby colognes, at that!) because my nose is too sensitive to strong scents. My mother loves perfumes though.

I always were a scent. Either perfume or body mists. It’s a pity this one doesnt last very long. I really like it when a scent sticks the entire day. Then you don’t have to think about it again. I love florabotanica from balenciaga. But also Bath & Bodyworks’ bodymists.

I’ve always loved Lacoste’s scents. I’ve seen this around for some time now, love that it has a summer scent. Now if only I can justify buying a new scent, but at the moment, I have three different bottles which are all hardly used!

This perfume is one I love when I spritz it in the air but it doesn’t work well on me. My go to scent right now is any Tom Ford or Channel No 5.

I have never tried this perfume before but I’m a fan of perfumes, I have about 20 in my collection. I find it strange that you say La vie est belle is too sweet, it find it very elegant and it’s my favorite one so far. I would recommend you to try a DKNY perfume, the are all based on apple scents and smell very fresh.

I also go on scent hunting as I don’t want to smell the same always. I like to change from time to time so I have a couple on my shelf. I love Bulgari scents and Prada Candy. And recently started Jerzee inpiration scents, which I make by the way. Why should I buy overly priced perfumes when I can make one with the same quality and long lasting. Lol! So now, I can change from scent to scent. You can find the same scent of Lacoste touch of pink from inspiration scents too!😊
