Super Easy Summer Smoothie

Hey guys and girls!!

Today is the first day of summer and finally the sun is starting to shine bright and strong. I don’t know about you but every time I think about summer the first thing that pops on my mind is a relaxed afternoon with a great smoothie on one hand and a book on the other. There’s just something so fresh and zen about smoothies, don’t you think?

So, to celebrate the first day of summer here’s a smoothie recipe so easy that you’ll only need 5 minutes. Well, maybe 10 because you’ll need to stow everything  when you’re done. It’s so easy you can even do it with the kids. This is a healthy recipe so no sugar added. 😉

What you’ll need:

20160620_173206
6 to 10
Fresh Strawberries

1 banana

plain yogurt

Some Ice Cubes

Sugar

Orange

A blender

How to do it:

In the blender join the fresh strawberries, the banana and the yoghurt. If they’re fresh you don’t need to use the ice cubes, but if you like your beverages freezing cold then add it! Its time to blend everything now. And… Voilá! Super easy and fast. Your smoothie is done.

Now is time to decorate your glass, because let’s face it, that’s the part of having a smoothie!

Spill some sugar in a little plate. Pass the orange around the edges of the cup. Now, put the cup in the sugar and it’s done! The idea is that the sugar will glue on to the orange juice. You can also cut a strawberry halfway through and put it in the edge of your cup. Add a straw to double the fun!

Variations:

I don’t drink alcohol but if you want to you can add gin instead of yoghurt. You can also add cinnamon, or anything you like really.

Try a vegan/dairy free variation of this going for a soy yoghurt!

If you’re having friends over, double the recipe just make sure it will fit in the blender.

Aaaah this looks really yummy! Strawberries are hard to come by where I live but I’ve done smoothies a couple of times with just banana, yogurt, and protein shake powder. Tastes awesome too!
